Welcome to the West Quoddy Head State Park Trails site.
Here is a map of the park and the trail system therein. I am sorry for the poor quality of the map but this gives you the main layout of the park. You can blow up the map by clicking on the
Big Map Link. The Big Map is much clearer and easier to read. Check out the Maine Map also. It will give you an idea as to the location of the Park in
the State of Maine. As you can see West Quoddy Head is a peninsular jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean. The sea beats on this peninsular and has formed many spectacular rock formations over the centuries. Carrying Place Cove is so named because the Native Americans ported their canoes over the thinnest land mass
available instead of paddling all the way around Quoddy Head. Opposite Carrying Place Cove is a large sand bar and salt marsh. Many different species of birds make the salt marsh their home including the great American Bald Eagle. Many wonderful areas surround the park itself. There are numerous light houses to explore, miles of beaches to roam, and lots of wildlife to admire. West Quoddy Head State Park is one of many parks and trail systems that abound in the area. Bring the family and come explore!
